Indie Spotlight: JC Dirks
Our Indie Spotlight this month is artist JC Dirks! JC is from Missouri and has released two full length albums, including his newest album Make Me Like You. “My desire for all of the songs that I write is that they simply give people a melody to express the thoughts of worship that they have toward the Lord,” says JC.
Make Me Like You features 11 songs that are all written with a passionate heart for Jesus. “The main theme of the album is that of Holiness and a desire to be more like Jesus,” says JC. “Make Me Like You is proof that God can use the weak things of this world. None of the album was done in a studio. All of the songs were recorded, mixed, and mastered in a small room in my apartment (a few drum parts in our church). I know that I could never have done that, and I still could not, without Jesus. The Lord was the driving force behind every step of the process.”
The songs on this album are great to use in your worship services. “The LORD is His Name”, “Make Me Like You”, and “Hearts Full of Surrender” are some of our favorites. “The LORD is His Name’ speaks about the power and greatness of God in the verse and then bursts out into a song of response to His greatness in the chorus. I could sing this song every Sunday! I hope the Lord touches your life through it,” said JC
